Do you (or does someone you know) need to be baptized? Short answer: Yes.

October 30, 2016 can be a big day in your life, a day you celebrate every year! It could be the day you are baptized.

If you know someone who is not baptized (or their children are not baptized), forward this email to them.

Step one is to click the button below to schedule an appointment with Pastor John to talk about Baptism, or read on to learn more about why you need to be baptized.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is the application of water as instructed by Jesus Christ.

Where did Jesus say that people should be baptized?

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus said:

  • “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

What good is Baptism?

In Mark 16:16, Jesus said,

  • “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved…”

Who should be baptized?

The words, “all nations” indicate that Baptism is for everyone.

What about babies?

Baptism is a symbol of the covenant of grace God has made with his people.

In the Old Testament, the symbol of being God’s people was circumcision. Male babies were circumcised on the eighth day to be marked as one of God’s people. Because Baptism is the New Testament sign of grace and mark of God’s family, babies are baptized.

In the New Testament, whole households were baptized. This would include children.

Infant Baptism has been the practice of the church from the very beginning, with clear documentary evidence from around 180AD.

(There’s more. Let’s talk – PJ. If you want to read up on infant baptism, wikipedia has a nice article. CLICK HERE to read it.)

Take the next step and click the button below. You can choose the time and place to learn more about Baptism from Pastor John.

I still have questions.

Perfect! You should definitely talk to Pastor John. Click that oversized button above and insert yourself into his schedule. You don’t even have to make a phone call.

Do I need to talk to Pastor John or can I just show up?

You do need to talk to PJ before October 30 to participate. Would PJ tell you, “no,” if you just showed up and wanted to be baptized? Probably not. But let’s do this thing in good order and with good understanding.

I’m on the fence about Baptism. What should I do?

Click the button! PJ will even buy you a cup of coffee and tell you a joke. Seriously. What have you got to lose?

PJ will tell me a joke?

Sure. Here’s one:

  • Today a man knocked on my door and asked for a small donation towards the local swimming pool, so I gave him a glass of water.

He’s got more (some would say, “unfortunately.”)

Click the button. Find out more. Schedule your or your children’s baptism.
